Minneapolis Park Police is a municipal law enforcement agency tasked with enforcing laws and ordinances, granted by the authority of the Minneapolis Park and Recreations board. The Minneapolis Park Police has been in existence since 1887 and has served the city of Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Park system for 136 years.
The Minneapolis Park and Recreations Board oversees a renowned urban park system spanning 7059 acers of parkland and water.
