Position Description:

Job Title: District Program Coordinator - Mankato

Reports to: Senior Manager – Southern MN Districts

Location: Mankato MN area (remote)

FTE Status: Non-exempt flexible part-time, up to 25 hours per week

Scheduled hours will fall between 8:30 – 3 pm Monday thru Friday

Salary Range: $19 - $23

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and have a passion for furthering our educational mission along with strong organizational and communication skills. The position will support JA North Educational Programs within the business and education communities. Due to the connections built with community personnel, the candidate needs to live in the Mankato MN region with some regional daytime travel required and occasional evening or weekend hours. This position allows for a flexible work schedule during the 8:30 am to 3 pm time frame Monday through Friday with a minimum 25 hours per week. Actual hours per week and schedule will be determined based on candidate qualifications and needs along with potential for flexible summer scheduling (i.e., minimal hours per week June through August).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Manage, expand, and maintain JA programming (In-classroom, distance learning, and Capstone) within Mankato and surrounding area schools (Public, private schools, and charter schools) to achieve strategic plan goals.

Recruit schools and teachers to participate in K -12th grade JA North programs.

Recruit and manage volunteer engagement to ensure seamless classroom experience is achieved.

Support JA’s customer service plan to ensure quality of program delivery through effective communication, classroom monitoring, and evaluation.

Monitor curriculum distribution to schools and program reporting requirements to ensure proper verification of all programs.

Manage records and information related to school and volunteer activity.

Develop expertise in program delivery models.

Assist in delivery of JA programs as and where appropriate.

Assist with preparation and logistics of Regional and JA North high school competitions.

Supports the District Senior Manager in working with corporate, education, and community leaders to develop partners engagement and financial resources to ensure successful program implementation.

Works with District Senior Manager to coordinate, promote, and deliver special events and generate program funding (ensuring those events operate within budget).

Provide Junior Achievement program training and orientation for all new volunteers and educators, and as requested.

Carries out administrative processes; data management and reporting requirements pertaining to territory through paperwork, e-mail, and the web.

Attend trainings offered by JA North to continue striving for personal improvement.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Required:

Strong commitment to team and mission

One year business, sales, education, or non-profit experience

Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks

Good interpersonal communication skills

Attention to accuracy and detail

Literacy in Microsoft Office Suite of products


Desired:

Experience working with Mankato area schools and business community

Project management experience, preferably with a not-for-profit organization

Strong sales skills

Experience using database software

COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended

Job Overview:

This position will support students as they learn how to become young entrepreneurs, customers, business leaders and learn about personal finances. As a Capstone Coordinator in JA BizTown and JA Finance Park, the position will help kids play grown-up for the day.

The position will create work connections with educators from across MN and volunteers from our local business partners while assisting them in leading the students in our innovative programs. The position will also acquire job experience while guiding students from a diverse array of backgrounds, abilities, ages, and interests.

Primary Responsibilities:

Create a positive experience for students, teachers, and volunteers in partnerships with Capstone and other JA North staff.

Assist with planning and facilitating the school visits.

Set up and reset the Capstone labs after each school visit.

Gain and apply knowledge and understanding of the Capstone operations, software systems and equipment.

Create content and implement summer programs in collaboration with the Capstone team.

Qualifications:

· Exhibit strong professional presence with good attention to detail

· Ability to easily adapt in a fast-paced environment

· Skilled in verbal and written communication

· Computer literacy with iPads, Google apps and Microsoft Office Suite

· Experience working with diverse populations

· Exhibit and apply strong organizational/planning skills
