Position Description:

Brand Ambassadors represent the Lottery at special events throughout the year, including at the State Fair. Must be friendly, out-going, reliable, and enjoy interacting with the public. The individual in this position must be able to work some weekends, holiday, and be willing to work a minimum of three shifts at the State Fair and/or three events throughout the summer of 2025.

Duties may include:

Selling and redeeming Lottery tickets, answering questions, assisting players with games and event activities, stocking and cleaning the booth area. May be scheduled to help with set-up and tear-down of the booth space. Most events are outdoors and are located within the seven-county metro area.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be 18 year of age or older

Possession of: Active, valid, and applicable Minnesota Class D driver's license
Knowledge of:
-Communications sufficient to apply accurate spelling and grammar in written communications
-Math sufficient to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers

Ability to:
-Communicate in a variety of formats to gather and relay information with tact and diplomacy
-Provide prompt and courteous service to customers, employees, and the public such as answering questions and
providing information
-Communicate effectively with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who do not share your same culture, ethnicity, language, or other common experiences

Preferred Qualifications
-Retail experience, selling and making change for customers
-Prior event experience

Physical Requirements
Medium: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and or/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move and/or transport objects.

The position will also be exposed to extreme weather conditions.

The Minnesota State Lottery will conduct a criminal background check and fingerprint check at the time of job offer for all prospective new employees.

Position Description:

This position is part-time and will work up to 30 hours per week. The specific hours and days of work are flexible including days, nights, and weekends depending on event needs. This position is anticipated to last through the end of August or September.

This Student Worker position will provide event and clerical support to the Marketing Department at the Minnesota State Lottery Roseville Office Head Quarters.

Job duties include but are not limited to:
-Planning and preparing for events and contests
-Driving the Marketing Vehicle
-Working at events
-Performing administrative duties
-Work at assigned special events or promotions and may require some travel.
-Current enrollment in a post-secondary or graduate study program*. Please ensure that your application/resume clearly indicates the college where you are currently enrolled as well as your anticipated graduation date.

Minimum Qualifications

Skill in:
-Provide prompt and accurate information to clients, coworkers, and customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence
-Using spreadsheet applications, such as Microsoft Excel to enter, compile, store and retrieve data

Knowledge of:
-Word processing sufficient to use software, such as Microsoft Word to create, format, edit, print and save a variety of documents

AND
-Must have a valid Class D driver's license.
-ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENT WORKERS: To be eligible for employment as a Student Worker, you must be a student enrolled in an educational program or planning to enroll within three months. You may be "off" for the summer or for one
semester/quarter and remain employed as a Student Worker, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. If you are enrolled at a credit-granting institution, you must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits. If enrolled at a non-
credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, you must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an office/clerical setting.

Physical Requirements
Ability to move and/or transport items weighing up to 50 lbs. and work in extreme weather conditions.
